On January 18th, at 6:00 pm, a Membership Information Class will be held for Grace Life of Senatobia at the Senatobia Library. This class will be held for those who want to know more about this new church plant. Attending the class is not a commitment to join, it is just an opportunity to learn more about the vision and beliefs of Grace Life. The class will be offered twice – once in January and again in March. The class will cover the doctrine and phases of the plant as well as what membership commitment means.
Grace Life will be an evangelical, christian church. This means that we will be a Christ centered church that will strive to be biblically healthy. Jesus Christ is the center and focus of who we are. Jesus said, “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.”(John 12:32) The doctrinal beliefs of the new church could accurately and historically be called Baptist. The Discovery class will cover excerpts from our doctrinal statement, The Baptist Faith and Message, 2000 as well as refer to other historic baptist confessions, like the 1833 Baptist Confession.
The phases of the plant will be introduced. Church planting is a long, multi-step process. Once the membership is established, Grace Life will continue to meet primarily through cell group meetings. These group, bible studies are a way for people to connect, discuss and apply the scriptures and pray together. When our cell groups multiply into two or three cells, then we will begin to meet corporately on Sunday mornings and officially “launch” the church.
Grace Life will strive to have a meaningful membership. What does it mean to be a committed church member? Areas of commitment will be covered so that people will understand the duty and responsibilities of church membership. Because Christ has saved us, we want to glorify Him in the way that we live our lives. Ephesians 3:21 says, “1 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Our parent church is Grace Life of the Shoals. This church through it’s annual True Church conference has been instrumental in encouraging and equipping new church plants. We will support church planting and missions through Anchored in Truth and the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention.
All are welcome to attend this class at 6:00 pm on Wednesday night, January 18th at the Senatobia Library.
